KAZKA is an original folk ballet inspired by Ukrainian fairy tales, with an original score by Nicholas Buc. Artistic Director Melanie Moravski Dechnicz, together with her creative and dedicated team of composers, costumiers and set designers, has been working tirelessly on this exciting new Ukrainian folk ballet for over a year now.
KAZKA is an exhilarating and innovative production, performed by a cast of 39 outstanding dancers. For Lehenda and its dancers, it will provide an extraordinary opportunity to showcase traditional Ukrainian dance and folklore in a new and creative way, the likes of which have never before been seen on an Australian stage. It is a tale of love, betrayal and supernatural spirits, with Melanie’s original choreography giving it a fresh and contemporary flavor in a brilliant mix of modern and traditional style.
